Language. Text. Society is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed academic online journal.

It was first established in 2007 as Samara AltLinguo E-Journal and was published until 2015. Since 2019, the journal is renewed under the new title.

The journal deals with a wide range of topics related to the functioning of language in various texts, genres, and discourses in diverse social settings. We publish original research papers in the fields of sociolinguistics, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, narrative analysis, cognitive linguistics.

Language. Text. Society focuses on theoretical issues and analysis of relationships between language use, types of text, and discourse patterns in socially and culturally conditioned communication. We explore society through the lens of linguistic diversity and discourse-based interaction.

The languages of publication are English (preferred) and Russian. The journal is published twice a year (from 2020).

Language. Text. Society is founded and published by Andrey G. Kirillov, associate professor of the Germanic languages department of the Samara University of Public Administration “International Market Institute”.

No fee is charged for the publication of manuscripts.

We provide free open access to all journal articles, including past and current issues.
